Author's Notes:

The end of an era: the conclusion of the Old Levi Plot Device! Long shall the story be sung in the halls of Valhalla! Or some such nonsense. Anyway, that's it for Old Levi, and that's it for August too, it seems. Five updates this month! Not bad, eh? It's all thanks to my extreme dedication to this comic! Okay, let's face it: making the comic every week is something of a pain. I have a vision here, people, but putting it on paper is a very difficult thing to bring myself to do, sometimes. Last week was a good example. Other times it just flies by effortlessly. The vast majority of the time, however, I wish I had a bull-whip and an underpaid on-staff art team. Then I'd come out with a comic every day, and probably an animated series too! And then it would be on to the live-action motion picture!

Speaking of motion pictures, actually, I saw Master and Commander not too long ago. My friend gave me his copy because he didn't like it, so I popped it in because, hey, nautical stuff! I thought it was totally awesome, but it must not have had enough guts and explosions for him. But I noticed while watching that Russel Crowe looks somewhat uncannily like Samuel Strathclyde, in my opinion: the uniform, the hair and chops, the big nose, etc. It's too bad he did this movie, because now I can't ask him to do the movie-version of Seaworthy. Hey, they did a live-action Popeye (which sucked, but that's not the point), so why can't they do it with MY comic? I'm not entirely sure if Crowe could play a humorous role like Captain Strathclyde anyway; all of his attempts at humour in Master and Commander fall flat on their faces and die horribly.

So, for now, Seaworthy: the Movie will remain on the shelf, awaiting the inevitable Steven Spielberg vs. Peter Jackson bidding war that is sure to come. I hope August was everything you wanted and more, from my comic at least! At this time, I'd like to make an extra special bow to my growing French and Quebecois readers out there! You guys (and ladies) now make up 10% of my total readership! Thank you, and cheers! And for everyone out there, tell your family, friends, and enemies that they should read Seaworthy, the best damned sailing comic with the anti-whaling message for the new generation!
