Author's Notes:
Imagine my surprise yesterday when my roommate and fiancé, Ashley O'Brien, announced that she had only yet to color a guest comic for me! Well, I immediately put done my pencil and paper and said "By gum, I'll use it this week!" Okay, I didn't really say anything that lame (but I thought it). Anyway, I consider myself, and all of you by that measure, fortunate to have my pages graced by a talented artist by Ashley. No, I'm not just saying that because I have to. I think that this guest comic portrays the Seaworthy gang from a very unique perspective, and it looks very cool. And those are some mighty rude statements sewn to the back of those shirts and coats; this new ship's doctor that we've never ever seen before sure has a boorish sense of humor! So anyway, without further ado (do I say that a lot?) here is Guest Comic #1!
It should be noted that I said "Guest Comic #1" just there. Let this day be an example to you all; I am always interested in getting fan art from any of my readers, whether Seaworthy-related or not. These pieces of art/literature (with the creator's permission, of course) will happily be posted as a guest comic or on the Art page, depending on which is more appropriate. There will be times, perhaps, when I may put out a genuine plea for a guest comic or two if I need to be gone for a while (did I ever mention that I will be in Japan for two weeks next April?), but if you just can't wait for me to beg you, I will accept anything at any time. Maybe you just want to show me something cool that you've drawn. Maybe you have taken a picture of a ship that looks just like the Seaworthy (if such a ship could truly still be afloat). Maybe you've written a 990-verse meadhall epic poem about the brave Captain and his unwitting crew. Send it over; I'll be happy to take a look!
