I rather like the Picts. They were so ruthless in battle that the Romans stopped trying to conquer them and just built a wall to try and keep them out of Roman Britain! And they really did build that wall across all of Scotland from shore to shore (although it was at the narrowest isthmus of the island, but still). Anyone who can scare the Romans has to be cool. Also, battle scenes look really good in graphite on lined paper.
