The COMIC is finally up! I have a few words that need to be said, and then I'm hopping in the car and getting dinner because I'm HUNGRY!
First of all, this comic will close out the FIRST YEAR of Seaworthy! I hope everyone has enjoyed the comic, complete with its ups and downs, throughout this year as much as I have. I am really very pleased by the fanbase that has built up around the comic; I don't know if I really suspected that it would gain such a large and diverse audience! So I hope these are clues that you are all ready for another great year of Swashbuckling, Swordplay, and Sarcastic Silliness in 2008! I know I am! I think I need to make a New Year's resolution to not take any extended vacations from the comic like I did this year (twice).
Another thing I should mention is that once again there is no Uggers & Jooge up today. I am terribly sorry about that, and I will try to get a bunch of them up at once tomorrow. I think I will run them 2-3 a day until the end of the year just to get up to schedule. Thanks for your patience, and despite my lack of a new incentive comic in a while you are all doing a great job VOTING for me! Seaworthy has a higher rank than it ever has before, thanks to your efforts! If we all keep voting like mad for the rest of the year (only a few more days!) the comic might even finish the year in the TOP 100! That would be a spectacular achievement for a first-year comic, and I say we GO FOR IT! Who's with me? Hopefully some of you! Thanks a lot, and I'll see you in 2008 everyone!
12-27-2007
Well, I've done it again. I'm postponing this week's comic until tomorrow due to a bit of lingering holiday hecticality. Also, you've probably noticed that Uggers & Jooge hasn't been updating for the last several days! Well, I'm sucking at that too, I'm afraid. Give me another day to get my act together, and I'll put up a new comic and a new U & J. Happy Christmas!
12-21-2007
Today's comic is finally up! I happened to notice online just now that there is some actual proof that today's comic could actually happen... not in the 18th century, though! You might have noticed that the Guestlog has come under Spam-attack by some low-life invertibrate with no balls. I am taking steps to fix this problem, although that step will probably be to create a new Guestlog. I'll make sure that all the messages are transferred over to the new one. Enjoy the comic, and please vote (Uggers & Jooge is back on track!)! And Happy Christmas if I don't update between now and then!
12-19-2007
The "holiday spirit" is getting to me extra strong this year; it's about all I can do to stop myself for running screaming to a nice Middle Eastern country where there is no Christmas (and where it's probably a lot warmer too). I have... very... very much stuff I need to do, and unfortunately the comic is not very high up on the list. However, tomorrow I'm thinking that I might be able to squeeze it in, so this week's comic will premiere on Friday instead of Thursday. I'll be finishing out the year with two more Christmas specials (both of which, I feel, capture the mood of the holiday accurately), and then it's on to the new year! I will still post an Uggers & Jooge comic for tomorrow (and the next day, and the next day, and so on). Stay tuned, and sorry for the delay!
12-13-2007
Hello everyone! There's a NEW COMIC today, and it's featuring that little rascal: the kid with no name! Also, I'm going to move the POLL up to the top(-ish) of the page so that people still keep giving me their opinions of the new site resolution (or whether it will even come to pass). So far there doesn't seem to be overwhelming clamor for lowering the resolution, but anything could happen! I'll leave it up another few weeks.
Should I lower the site resolution from 1280x1024 to 1024x768??
12-18-2007
Just a quick update. As a result of a STUPID typo, yesterday's Uggers & Jooge comic didn't seem to show up (I noticed way, way too late). I was just going to skip to the next one but I rather like the comic that was supposed to be up yesterday. So I am going to run it a day late. The last day for Uggers & Jooge is now January 1st, New Year's Day (and, you may remember, the one-year anniversary of this comic!). Sorry for the inconvenience; please keep voting (we're doing great this month!).
12-09-2007
A quick Sunday update. I have been pondering lowering the site resolution from 1280x1024 to 1024x768, which would eliminate the need for side-scrolling on the webpages for my lower-resolution visitors. Right now, only about 45% of my visitors can view the comics without side-scrolling. Lowering the resolution to 1024x768 will eliminate side-scrolling for 97% of my readers! I know I hate side-scrolling on a website, and I'm sure many of you do too. Still, it's a big decision. So I thought I would let YOU, the readers, decide if I should make this change! Please use the poll below to let me know what your preference is. I'll keep the poll up for the rest of the month for your convenience:

UPDATE
I felt too bad about not making a comic. So I went and MADE ONE! Surprise! Now, it's nothing spectacular, but it should bring a few things into perspective. Enjoy, and remember to vote to see the daily "Uggers & Jooge" comic!
Original Post
Greetings, fans! I have done a horrible job of budgeting my time this week. Truly terrible. Therefore, I decided to do some site updates instead of creating a new comic for today. As is my wont, being the author/artist/creator and all. I am sorry, though; I will be a good comic-maker next week and make a good comic for your ongoing enjoyment. Maybe you're really mad at me, and you want to take a few verbal potshots at me? Maybe I'm not performing up to your standards? Let me have it with the brand new Contact Form, brand new on the site! With this you can just type your name, email (if you want a response), and emotionally-damaging statements, and hit the submit button! Easy, eh? Very nice. Also, check out the Archive page, as I have finally gotten around to adding the "Hadrian vs. the Picts" series to the past incentives section! I'm sure you were probably about to use the Contact Form to find out where the hell those were because you loved them so much!
Maybe you're still mad. None of that other crap matters to you at all; you came here ready to read a comic and nothing else will satisfy! Well, I admire a person who knows what they want, and I've got you covered on that number as well! Because, recall, in this fine month of December you can always VOTE using one or both of the handy buttons to the right to read the brand-new, updated daily Uggers & Jooge comic series! It's the illustrated phenomenon that's the talk of the website! Check it out if you haven't seen it yet; you may just like it! Don't worry if you've missed a few; I'm not big on continuing story arcs, in case you haven't noticed. Well, I hope will all of that said, the many of hate-posts I get from the new form will be peppered with a few semi-positive ones. Thank you kindly! As always, stay tuned!
12-01-2007
The Incentive Comic Initiative debuts today! Vote for me, with both buttons if you want to be nice, to see the first of thirty-one daily one-line comics that will be appearing throughout December! Don't worry, they get better! Thanks and happy December!
11-29-2007
Today's comic is a preview for the up-and-coming incentive comic issue that is set to premiere on December 1st. That's two days from now! Wow, that's great! I know I've been very boring in the incentives area recently, but soon you'll be clicking that vote button as fast as you can to see a new comic every day in December! Yes, yes, I've been through this whole speech already, and you know how great it's going to be. So mark December 1st on your calendar and get ready to laugh laugh laugh! Do you suppose I should write this in big letters in case someone doesn't bother to read the fine print? I think so:
VOTING INCENTIVE COMIC SERIES BEGINS DECEMBER 1 (TWO DAYS AWAY!)!!!
That oughta do it! 48 hours to go until the premiere! Get ready to vote! In fact, maybe you want to vote now just to stay in practice!
11-22-2007
Happy Thanksgiving to all! I hope you're not too full of turkey to read a special comic explaining the true history of Thanksgiving! Believe me, everything you read on this website is absolutely true, guaranteed (not by me, though). Okay, well, it's still Thanksgiving, so I'm going to get back to the holiday celebration. Enjoy, and stay tuned in a day or two for a sneak peek at the upcomic Incentive Comic series!
11-21-2007
Hello folks! It is still technically late afternoon, with three minutes to go until 6:00pm! So here is Today's comic, the completion of the one-line cliffhanger that I left you with last week. Hopefully you will enjoy it. I'd love to write some more, but I am going to eat some food and get to work on tomorrow's THANKSGIVING comic (one which I rather like and I hope you will too). Enjoy the comic, readers! And happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!

MONTH-LONG VOTING DRIVE: DECEMBER 01-31, 2007
But first thing's first. A new teaser comic is out today to whet your appetite for things to come. Next week the conclusion of this comic will be posted. BUT now that I think about it, next week's update day is a holiday, so I think I might do something special for that day. So the conclusion to this week's comic will be posted on WEDNESDAY, and the holiday special will, then, be posted on that day which is called THURSDAY.
Okay, now about the voting drive. In an effort to end the year with a bang, I've devised a month-long voting initiative that will blow you away! The whole project is real hush-hush, so not much information will be leaked about it. What I can tell you is that every day in December (you heard right, I said EVERY DAY there will be a new short comic up on both the voting sites. The comics are part of a new series that I have written to run in tandem with Seaworthy, only it will be updated EVERY DAY. I can hear your skepticism from here. You're thinking, "Hey Pete! You can barely even put out the Seaworthy comic once a WEEK! How the hell are you going to also put out another new comic EVERY DAY??" Well, I'll let you in on a little secret to alleviate your fears: I already did them. That's right, they're done and all ready to go for December 01-31. Surprised? Me too, a little. So prepare your vote-clicking fingers for the first day of December, folks! The new comic strip series is completely unrelated to Seaworthy and they don't follow an overall plot-arc, so don't worry if you accidentally miss one or two; you won't get lost. There you go, that's the big news! Stay tuned for next week, and try to contain your excitement about the upcoming VOTING DRIVE!!!
11-08-2007
Finally, I have posted a new comic after my two-week break. I have been getting an increased amount of traffic on this site lately, mostly due to my increasingly successful campaign of "getting the word out." I recently had the great idea that since my comic is about sailing, that "hey, maybe the sailing community would be interested in my comic!" Thank you to all the sailors out there who are visiting and enjoying Seaworthy! I do believe I have also been viewed a few times by the folks at Al Jazeera in Qatar, a notable visitor indeed! Hello, Al Jazeera! Indeed, hello and thank you to anyone who has read Seaworthy. I'm very happy to see that the number of returning visitors is on the rise (there is a lot less "hit and run" going on nowadays).
I'd now like to take this time to say: please VOTE for me! I realize that I pretty much brought this upon myself for not updating the last couple of weeks, but I'm not doing so well in the polls this month. Seaworthy just first got into the top 200 on bCx yesterday. I would really appreciate your votes, so please cast them if you are enjoying Seaworthy. Vote early and vote often!
UPDATE!
No comic today, folks. But do not despair (or burn effigies of me)! Instead, I present the equally exciting, long-awaited, sure to be a crowd-pleaser...
THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN OF THE TALKING PARROT!
BRAVO!! There it is; you wanted to see it, and I always aim to please! HA HA HA HA!!! Ah, the endless comedic value of gas... will the sophistication never end? Sorry folks, the comic just didn't happen for today because I wasn't feeling up to it (but I was totally feeling up to the "parrot belch" gag). HOWEVER, I totally promise you that I totally have a comic lined up for you next week, one I've been waiting to do for quite a while, so take a little rest and prepare yourself for it. Oh, that reminds me. The final comic in the VOTING INCENTIVE series has been posted as well. SO VOTE to enjoy that! Let's try to beat our record in the month of November for voting; I know we can do it. Thank you, sorry for the cruel trick about the parrot, and please bear with me everyone!
11-1-2007
Happy Belated Halloween and happy November. I'm sorry, but I have been sick for the last couple of days, so there is no completed comic today. Hopefully I will be able to get something up by the end of the day or tomorrow (since I will be working on it today). New voting incentive after work today, in any case!
10-25-2007
SEVERAL SITE CHANGES!!
Hello readers. After a bit of thought, I decided not to post the comic that I was planning to run today. It just wasn't that funny. I know, that's never stopped me in the past, but this one was quite not funny, I'm afraid. And my backup idea was even less funny. So I am leaving a week's space between the last comic and the one that I am planning on doing next week. Why didn't I just do that one this week? I was hoping to put a little gap in between those two comics, and if I can't do that with a crappy filler comic, I'll just do it with time. So sorry about no comic today, but I have made a whole mess of much-needed updates to the site, which are as follows:
Not less importantly, Part 2 of the "Hadrian vs. the Picts" incentive series has been posted! VOTE to see it!
The old "Gill Bates" incentive series has been posted on the Archive page. It is on the left side of the page.
The Art page has been reorganized and updated to include more recent incentive images.
The Crew section has finally been updated with the biographical profiles of QM, Conrad, and Jeffrys.
So there you have it; I wasn't totally idle this week. Really, I think the site needed some work a lot more than you needed to see an unfunny new comic. So stay tuned next week for the new comic, and enjoy all those new site updates in the meantime!
10-19-2007
NEW VOTING INCENTIVE!
Hello everyone. Today's incentive follows the probabaly somewhat fictionalized account of the Roman Emperor Hadrian's military foray into Pictish Cumbria! Don't worry, it's not as boring as all that! Chaos and destruction ensues! So check it out to see how much you don't want to run into a horde of angry Picts when you're on their turf! And have a nice day!
10-18-2007
The shenanigans continue in TODAY'S COMIC with the lovable little tramp that Artois pulled out of his cask of fine aged wine. Oh how he will get himself into trouble on this crazy ship! I hope you all enjoy the new character, and do not think me in any way irresponsible for placing an impressionable youth on a dangerous ship full the most dim-witted and accident-prone imbeciles ever to sail the seven seas. And I also hope that you are all supporting your favorite nautical comic (pssst... I mean this one) by VOTING regularly... seriously, folks just a simple vote or two a day will ensure that more people around the world will have the opportunity to see this wonderful comic that you have come to call your favorite! Again, I'm talking about Seaworthy, here. Enjoy the new comic, everyone, and have a great rest of the week!
Wait! I nearly forgot to mention: I will be running another old comic series that I have uncovered in my archives. I will begin posting them tomorrow, Friday (but that's no reason to wait to vote today, right?). The good news is that I won't have to change any of the words in these comics, because everyone in them is about 1900 years old (too old to sue me)! Stay tuned for that, coming tomorrow!
10-11-2007
The latest comic introduces a new character to ever expanding cast of people to remember; good lord, did Leo Tolstoy write this comic?? Heh heh, just kidding. While the cast list still remains quite manageable, still there is someone new, so check it out!
In other news, I should have my stupid laptop fixed and ready for action before I have to put another comic out, so I should be in a generally better mood next week (the system I have for site updates right now is a huge pain). Also, voting is looking good this month, but I'm putting out a call to action for all of my fans out there; please VOTE like it's going out of style so we can get the good word out on the streets! I am already very pleased by the international following that is slowly but surely building up around Seaworthy; this will be instrumental in future incarnations of this site as not only a dumping ground for the comic, but as a web community as well. Okay, now I'm rambling in my tiredness. Enjoy the new comic, and please vote. Thank you!
10-06-2007
Hello, those of you who are lurking about on the Seaworthy website during the weekend; I have a Saturday morning update for you! First of all, I failed to mention that the site finally rose above the 5,000 hits level as of yesterday! That is a staggeringly high number that was reached somewhat prematurely after last month's performance. Nearly half of those hits were got just from September, and Seaworthy finished very well in the polls last month (around 120 on bCx and 130 on TWC), though it slipped a bit in the ranking due to a lull at the end of the month. All-in-all, a very successful month for the comic, and a read turning point! I'd say that the steady reader base has doubled since the beginning of September, so I'm looking forward to a successful October!
Let's all make it a successful October by VOTING often! Stand proud, cast your VOTE, and support Seaworthy, the comic we love!
Update!
The very first ever guest comic is up today, sent in by Ashley O'Brien! Enjoy, and remember that I definitely welcome fan submissions of any kind (except viruses); whether or not the submission will be appropriate to be displayed on this page is another story! Of course, I imagine most things are. Anyway, check out today's comic; next week will be the beginning of a sort-of episode chain! Remember to VOTE!
10-04-2007
I have an extra-special surprise for everyone today... but not yet! One of my biggest fans has informed me that she will have a GUEST COMIC ready for me to put up today, but she needs a little more time to finish it up. So I say "Hell yes! My first guest comic!" So later today, folks, probably in the evening sometime, there will be a neato completo guest comic to switch up the art style for once! Stay tuned!
Oh, and I'll try to put up some statistics for the awesome month of September later today, too!
Update
The final "Gill Bates" voting incentive has been put up, so everyone vote to check it out. I'm sorry, but that will be it for updates today. I got so much work at work today that I am going to have to work on it all night to get it done. Pain in my neck, but that's how it played out. So I guess the other updates will just have to wait. I'll let this fourth Bates comic stay up as a voting incentive for a few days, then I will post the whole series on the website; what fun! Vote to enjoy, everyone!
10-01-2007
Happy October! Well, September was a very successful month for Seaworthy, but now we must put that behind us and work on making October a great one too! I am feeling rather under-the-weather today, so I didn't do a site update this morning (choosing to snooze instead). After work, however, I will be making several updates to the site, starting at 5:00pm CST. These updates will include the fourth and final "Gill Bates" voting incentive, the stats for the month of September, and more! Stay tuned!
09-28-2007
New Voting Incentive
All right, I mustn't delay any longer. Without further ado, the Third installment of the "Gill Bates Story" is up and ready to be viewed by clicking on the voting buttons to your right! It took a lot longer than I would have liked to get this one up, but here it is. This incentive will run all weekend, and then I will post the fourth and final comic with the Monday update (yes, there will actually be a Monday update this week). And when they are all up, I will post the four of them to a special section on the Archive page for "Incentives with Plots" (only I'll call it something better than that). So what are you waiting for? Go and VOTE to read the third Gill Bates comic! And have a good weekend!
09-27-2007
Another Update!
Well, it's a small miracle, but the comic has been posted! I desperately need to resolve my laptop issue before next week, because coloring the comic on the old computer was a big pain in the neck (and back)! But luckily, it is done! So read and enjoy! Sorry, but I don't think I will have time to put up a new voting incentive today, but I would very much like to tomorrow. Please vote for me anyway! There are only three days left in September, so let's go out with a bang! This has already been the most successful month in Seaworthy's history, so thank you very much to all of my readers, old and new! Enjoy the comic, everyone!
Update:
Good news, everyone! I evacuated as much of my website data from my laptop before conditions worsened. There was, however, some data loss. This includes today's comic, which I had to re-scan and start from scratch on. But that's not the good news, of course. The good new is that my backup plan for getting the comic done seems to be working (somewhat), so that means I should be able to put the comic up at some point tonight! Once I'm done coloring it, that is... but that's just a matter of hours. I'm sorry about this, everyone. Look for the comic later tonight (and please vote), and wish me luck on figuring out what to do to fix my primary computer. Thanks!
Ye gods, it's always something... So I had the comic all nice and drawn/inked early this week, since I worked on it every day. Then this afternoon I scan it in and start to color it: BAM! Some damn thing is wrong with my laptop all of a sudden (the thing was Photoshopping away just the day before yesterday). Now my system crashes every couple of minutes, meaning I can't make any progress on coloring the stupid thing. So that's where the update is! DAMN! There, I said it. Well, sorry folks, but until I can figure out what in the heck is wrong with this computer, I can't post the new comic. In actuality, it is late Wednesday night, not Thursday. So I will devote a good chunk of time BACKING UP the comic files and trying to get my computer working so I can get the comic finished sometime on Thursday, hopefully.
If I can't get this computer working, I have a risky backup plan involving an older computer that might not work, but I'm going to try to have something for you fine people tomorrow or, at the latest, Friday. I shouldn't say "at the latest," because absolutely everything could go wrong and I might have to wait for Dell to come out here and fix my laptop, and that would be quite lame. So, wish me good luck in my computer fix-it scheme, and maybe give me a little vote or two to boost my spirits. Oh, and keep checking back for the update, hopefully coming soon to a [working] computer near you!
09-24-2007
Monday's update did not get done over the weekend, folks. These final warm weekends of the year (wow, it's Autumn now!) are important to cherish and make the most of, before the long, dark, dreadful winter that never ends sets in. I will try, in earnest, to get the website changed to 1024 x 768 resolution for either tomorrow or Wednesday, and whichever day that update falls on, I will post Part 3 of the "Gill Bates" series as the new Voting Incentive (so read Part 2 now if you haven't). Enjoy your Monday, and come back soon for the update (plus the regular comic update on Thursday)!
09-21-2007
NEW VOTING INCENTIVE TODAY! The second installment of the "Gill Bates" incentive series has been posted, and is ready for your cascade of votes to view it! If you didn't manage to catch Part 1 of the series, do not distress; I will be posting it in the "Art" section either on Monday with the site update, or on Thursday with the comic update. Monday will see an extensive update to the site. I've decided, after much internal debate, to change the design of the website to better accomodate my viewers with less than 1280 x 800 screen resolutions. I personally know that it is a pain in the neck to have to side-scroll on websites, and I don't want Seaworthy to be a pain in anyone's neck! So look for that on Monday, and in the meantime... V-O-T-E for a fun story about everyone's favorite villain!
09-19-2007
Happy Talk Like A Pirate Day!
We've finally come to that most important of holidays, at least to a nautical comic! Today, we bring you the Third Special Episode, which is not necessarily part of the main storyline of the comic (like there is one of those anyway), but is guaranteed to be entertaining nonetheless! I hope you enjoy it, and I hope that everyone remembers to vote! There are only two more days to read Page 1 of the Incentive Comic Series I'm running before I upload Page 2 on Friday!
09-17-2007
A new VOTING INCENTIVE is up, so vote to see it! I recently found a notebook that had some of my old, pre-Seaworthy comics in it, so for the next couple of weeks I will be running them as voting incentives, one page at a time! I had to change some of the names in today's incentive, since the comic paints a rather unflattering picture of the main character. Anyway, vote and enjoy; I think I will put PAGE 2 of the incentive comic up on Friday, so read page 1 while you still can! Thanks, and stay tuned for the proper site update on the Wednesday holiday this week!
09-14-2007
Another update for my viewers: there will be another site update on Monday, September 17! I plan to add another Profile to the Crew section, a new voting incentive (from my deep, dark past), and hopefully I'll be able to throw another site enhancement in there as a surprise! Big day on Monday (and Wednesday, for that matter) of next week! Stay tuned!
09-13-2007
Sorry about that 2.5 hour outtage today; I actually exceeded my monthly bandwith in ONE DAY! That's all resolved now. I'm home from work, so I have time to write more about today's update! There sure is a lot to say; where to begin... Ah, here's something: thanks to Gianna Masetti posting a link to Seaworthy on The Noob, people from all over the world have literally been flooding to the site! Seriously, yesterday alone saw more hits than the entire month of August... I'm speechless. Anyway, that means that today's comic will have the biggest audience of any "Seaworthy" comic ever posted, so I hope everyone thinks it's a good one! And I hope everyone visiting the site for the first time is enjoying my webcomic, and thinking about possibly visiting again! And if you hate it, well, sorry (but Gianna must've thought it was okay, so there!).
Another announcement is that next week's comic will be one day EARLY! You didn't expect that one, did you? Well, that's because next Wednesday (September 19) is a very special holiday with the seafaring crowd, so stay tuned for that! In other news, I've decided that this site is starting to look as run-down as the Seaworthy, and so I will be giving it some TLC over the next couple of weeks. Expect lots of changes, some minor, some MAJOR, to be occuring for a little while (I promise you won't see any little "Under Construction" signs).
And that, as they say, is that! Enjoy Seaworthy, and IF you enjoy Seaworthy, perhaps you will consider giving me a few little VOTES using the buttons over on the right? That would be swell!
09-12-2007
WELCOME!
Hello to everyone who is visiting Seaworthy for the first time. There is a large influx of new viewers at this time; a large part of these is due to Gianna Masetti of The Noob posting a link to me on her website. A special thanks to her! Please, if you don't already know what The Noob is, you should go down there and show your support; it's definitely one of my favorite comics!
And anyway, as for all the new visitors, welcome again, and please enjoy Seaworthy on your first visit. And if you should so happen to like my comic, I would be very happy if you would graciously cast a VOTE or TWO for me. Thanks, welcome, and enjoy!
09-10-2007
Monday update! Check it out, the Crew Manifest has been significantly altered, and the three most important characters in the series have gotten their own crew biographies! Okay, it's not a huge update, but I hope to continue posting new crew bios regularly as I move forward with the comic. But for now, read up on the Captain, Bellfont, and Tess in the new Crew section. More site improvements are on the way! Please vote!
09-06-2007
Another update! What am I, a freak? This week, Seaworthy is proud to present... a FANTASTIC NEW VOTING INCENTIVE!!! Yeah, no new comic this week; for a quick explanation, let me just say that the Captain's condition in the new incentive image pretty much mirrors my own so far this week, so I'm really in no condition to do any heavy comic work. My original plan was to turn this into a short, one-panel comic, but I drew it rather hastily, using the wrong kind of pencil and the wrong kind of pen. So now, rather than feeding it into the shredder, it's been demoted to "voting incentive." Anyway, I figure no one will vote for a weekly comic that sucks, but everyone will vote if they want to see an incentive that they don't yet know sucks! HA HA HA!! Pass me the monacle and the Persian cat, because that is a sinister plan! Oops, except I just told you it sucks... but I could just be being modest! You'll have to vote to find out! And you need to satisfy your burning curiosity, anyway.
Of course, when you find out that it does suck, could you please vote at both places anyway?
Oh, and as another postscript, I have another surprise in store for you, coming to the site on Monday! And that's in addition to the neato comic I have planned for next Thursday! Excited? You bet you are! Check back often to see all the cool stuff that's happening at Seaworthy.
09-04-2007
August Results:
September is here, which means August is gone... but what a month it was! Needless to say, August was THE month for Seaworthy! To give everyone a quick rundown of August's achievements:
Hits: 520 (183 over record)

Also, Seaworthy finished at rank 139 at BuzzComix, which is about 40 higher than usual, and finshed at rank 172 at TopWebComics, about 15-20 higher than usual (I'm told not everyone votes for that one all the time). Thanks for the great results, everyone!
In other news, I'm feeling more than a little under the weather today (and for about half of the long weekend, too). Depending on how I'm feeling as the week progresses, this week's Thursday update may turn out to be a short comic or a new incentive, coupled perhaps with some site work (this site could use a lot of work still). In any case, stay tuned, everyone!
08-31-2007 UPDATE!!
It's done!! The CONCLUSION of the Old Levi story has been posted. I haven't got much to say now, though; I gotta run! Read the Author's Notes that go with the comic, and VOTE VOTE VOTE!! The statistics for the month of August will be posted tomorrow! Thanks and enjoy the comic!

When working on today's comic, unfortunately, almost everything that could go wrong, did. I say almost everything because my computer didn't blow up. I woke up an hour late to get to work. My pen ran out of ink (at 3am when no art stores are open), so I had to double-trace most of my lines. My dog ate my eraser, then he wouldn't stop nudging my mouse-hand (this cost me a LOT of time). SO there you go; I know, I have a hard life. Anyway, the comic is not up yet. I hate that fact, but it's true. I have to go to work now so that's the breaks. However, since I am so PO'ed that this is the case, I have no intention of allowing today's comic to turn out like LAST Friday's comic. I am going to visit my brother in Eau Claire today after work, but NOT UNTIL I FINISH THIS DAMN COMIC! I don't have much left to do, so I will make this my solemn promise. It's a shame I couldn't just whip this out before work, but I don't want to cut corners, what with the lines already looking somewhat off thanks to my dead pen and my inability to erase pencil marks. So there you have it, folks. I'd say you could probably look for the comic to be up around 5:30-6:00pm CST today; no later. Thanks for your unending patience, and keep voting for that comic that you will get today!
08-30-2007
All right, finally the new comic is up: the latest installment in the ongoing Old Levi series. It may be a week late, but it's well worth the wait, I assure you. Okay, I don't assure anything; you'll just have to decide for yourself (no hatemail, please). And speaking of hatemail, the Guestlog is back up and running, so why don't you stop in and let me know what you really think of me. August is turning out to be a great month, loyal fans. Let's keep going strong until the very end! Stay tuned tomorrow for ANOTHER NEW COMIC (the one I foolishly promised you on Sunday), and in the meantime... well, you know what I want...
*VOTE*
08-26-2007
Well, it's Sunday, and this (actually, last) week's comic is not up, as you have no doubt come to realize. Terribly sorry, friends. You know how the weekend can sometimes get away from you, and this one certainly has. But wait! Surely we can come to a compromise where everyone can be happy! I think I have the solution. This week, the comic will update on Thursday (even if it kills me), but there will be TWO comics posted: the one that I missed, and the one that should be coming up that week. And, I'll also mention, these two comics will neatly wrap up the "Old Levi" story arc. So, I think that should probably be enough excitement for one week. And that way, I won't technically be missing a comic update, since the numbers will still be there. At least, that's how I'm looking at it. Thanks for your patience, and be ready for a double-dose of Seaworthy this coming week!
08-24-2007
Okay, you guys are not going to like this, but it must be said. I was unable to complete today's comic in the time I had allotted myself. So, this means the comic is not up yet. However, I want to assure you all that I am still very dedicated to my one-update-a-week policy, so you will get your comic. Unfortunately (okay, fortunately, but I don't want to sound over-eager about it) I have a social engagement after work today, but I do solemnly swear that after that I will work on the comic until it is complete and posted. It is rather difficult to give a timeframe, given the circumstances, but it would probably be safe to say that if you check the website before you go to sleep the new comic should be up (This only applies to my New World readers; sorry faithful French/German/etc. readers). Thanks for your patience, and hopefully the comic will be up soon!
08-21-2007
Hello, awesome fans. Seaworthy is doing really great so far this month. It has already broken several monthly records (with ten days left in the month!), and has been propelled forward to its best placement ever in the polls! And now the bad news. I have foresight enough to already know that this is turning out to be one hell of a week, so I'm afraid I have to cut corners somewhere in my daily schedule. Alas, I have to place my job ahead of the comic in this case. Therefore, the new comic will be appearing one day later than usual (that's Friday, for anyone who's confused). Sorry I had to do this, but hey... Corporate America wins this round. Stay tuned, and keep voting!
08-16-2007
Seaworthy is getting popular, people! This site has had more hits in the last week than it did in the entire month of March (of course, I was ono hiatus that month, but lots of people still visited)! I'm glad that my Tess incentive has really gotten a good turnout at the polls. So, today Seaworthy celebrates its 20th Episode, and the continuation of the Old Levi series. I hope everyone is enjoying the story arc about one man's quest to find the whale that left an empty place in his stomach, and his daring adventure to rectify that! Enjoy! And continue to vote, please; it's doing so much good!
08-10-2007
NEW VOTING INCENTIVE UP!!! SEXY TESS (so VOTE VOTE VOTE)!
I wasn't kidding when I said there would be a new voting incentive image up today! So vote at BuzzComix or TopWebComics to the right (preferably both) to see sexy sailor Tess in all of her natural splendor, posing on her bed in a most seductive manner! This is the voting incentive that will have everyone saying "DAMN! I never expected to see Tess like that! Remember, readers, this is the reward for the site reaching 2,000 hits! So go on, give yourself a treat; vote for Seaworthy to see it all!
08-09-2007
Hello! First off, I apologize for that very ugly last post on this page; I'll look at reformatting that table, if not completely doing away with it. Secondly, I'm happy to announce that this week's comic is the start of a real, live story arc with an actual continuing plotline! Now, before you say "Hey! Plotline? I meant to go to seaworthycomic.com, not whatever THIS is!" let me assure you that you heard right. This multiple-episode adventure will bring Captain Strathclyde face-to-face with his favorite food! To find out what that is, you'll just have to read the comic.
Also, I promised you your Tess Pinup, so look for that voting incentive to come online tomorrow. That's right, you heard me again. Damn, I am on a roll... Enjoy the comic, come back for the incentive, and VOTE VOTE VOTE!

Okay, so I'm not very good with tables; at least you can get the main idea from this, which is the site did awesome in July! Be proud: you made it happen! Right, and while I was procrastinating to get this site update up, Seaworthy has topped 2,000 total hits! So remember back when the site got 1,000 hits and I promised you a sexy Tess voting incentive? And I never did it? Well this time I will! Stay tuned for that in the next week, and enjoy Seaworthy.
08-01-2007
It's August today, which means the multiple-record-breaking month of July has ended! A full report will appear along with the posting of this week's comic. Thanks for all your support in July, and *ahem* keep up the good work in August!
ADDENDUM: This week's comic will, indeed, be released on Friday instead of Thursday for a variety of reasons, not least of which being that this is just kind of a lousy week. That's fair warning; stay tuned!
07-31-2007
LAST DAY TO VOTE FOR THE MONTH OF JULY!
So come on down to Seaworthycomic.com and help this comic finish the month strong with a final surge of votes! Spread the word! Vote early and vote often! Blah, blah, blah. This has been a great month at the polls and I have all of you to thank for it! A full statement of this month's awesomeness will be reported along with this week's comic (on Thursday). Thanks for all your support!
07-26-2007
It's Thursday, and you know what that means! The LATEST COMIC has been posted for your viewing pleasure! After six meetings at work today I am lying in bed with a terrible headache, but I promised you an extensive site update, so I'll do my best. I have to be dedicated for the sake of such dedicated fans as yourselves!
So anyway, this is my fourth on-time update in a row. I don't want to jinx it by making any wild statements about time, but I do feel confident enough now to permanently take down the big red "Yeah Right" at the top-left and change Wednesday to Thursday. That's all I'll say about that... *knocks on wood*
A few more announcements are in order. The links page has been updated with links to some of my favorite webcomics, as well as a webcomic that I have entered into a link exchange with. Also I've expanded the list of "List Sites" that I belong to now. And as a final announcement, I'd like to inform you that July has indeed been a record-breaking month (so far; it's not over yet) in many respects. My next weekly update will give you all the details. And that's all for now! Enjoy Seaworthy (and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!)!
07-19-2007
Sorry if some of you are losing bets, but I just released another COMICon time again this week (Thursday technically counts as on time, as we've already established)! It sure does give me a warm feeling inside to be doing the comic again, and it's also nice not to have anyone telling me off for not making new comics! I know, you guys were just being good natured about it. No? Well, in any case, it got me working on the comic again, and I'm really enjoying it! So go ahead and read today's comic, and remember to vote often!
07-12-2007
Happy Comic Day! That's right the New Comic is out today! This is a long one, so grab a soda before you sit down to read it! A new character is introduced today, for those of you who are keeping track! I sure am proud that I managed to get this one out on time (Thursday is officially considered "on time" in my book nowadays) because it was very labor-intensive and time-consuming. But, I think it looks nice, and hopefully you will too! Enjoy the comic, and perhaps cast your vote for Seaworthy while you're at it!
07-11-2007
Hello, it's Wednesday again and I'm all done drawing the [extra long] comic! Not done coloring it, though. The new comic will premiere tomorrow (as you've no doubt guessed it would anyway)!
07-05-2007
Hey folks, today's comic is finally up! And it only took a day longer than I planned (through no fault of my own; okay, maybe a little). Enjoy the comic, and please vote (the comic is off to a good start this month).
07-04-2007
Happy Independence Day, to all you Yanks out there! I am writing this brief update to let you know that this week's comic, taken from a forgotten corner of the script vault, will appear on Thursday morning like last week. Starting to see a pattern here? Believe me, this Wednesday thing is psychologically necessary for me, so the "Updates Every Wednesday" sign stays up (Actually, the "Yeah Right!" part of the sign is the most psychologically necessary). Have a fun and safe fireworks day!
06-30-2007
Hello, you wonderful people with great taste in webcomics! I took down the Boris Yeltsin tribute incentive comic today, and replaced it with a new image. It's nothing spectacular, but it's something new to look at when you VOTE FOR SEAWORTHY (which I know you do often)!
As long as it's June 30th, I may as well give you my end-of-the-month report on the comic and website! Despite the fact that I haven't made a comic in ages (except on Wednesday this week), the website received more hits in June than in any month previously ever! This month beat out April by 7 hits to stand at 308 hits! By far June received the most first-time visitors ever (184 unique new visitors), which says to me that Seaworthy both has a following and is attracting new readers (and at least there were a fair number of comics for them to read when they got here)! I am most pleased about that! Of course, Seaworthy finished a bit lower in the polls this month (BuzzComix: #261 at 78 votes; TopWebComics: #297 at 72 votes), which is to be expected when the artist can't even be bothered to make a new comic! Still, I think that's a very good turn out at the polls, and it shows that my fanbase is both loyal and dedicated! That describes you well, yes? A big thanks to all of you, and I encourage you to do more of the same in the coming month of July! And stay tuned for more Seaworthy!
06-28-2007
I'll bet you thought you'd never see the day, but a NEW COMIC is up and ready for your enjoyment! Ah, it was a relaxing two-month break, but now I am ready to begin telling the story of Seaworthy again! I hope you like the new comic, and there's more on the way! Oh, and please vote for me (for old times' sake)!
The new comic is not up. Last night was my brother-in-law's (sort of) birthday, and tonight I had a dinner engagement and it was LOST night. I'm shooting for getting the comic up by dawn on Saturday. Unfortunately, with my new job I have like one third of the free time that I used to, and I'm still not very good at prioritizing it. Please bear with me. Thank you for checking back!
05-14-2007
Many of you have noticed/been vocal about the fact that there hasn't been a new comic in some time. I realize this is not a good way to please the adoring public, and my hits/votes recently have been showing it. Well, I want to tell you all that I'm sorry. My upcoming new career has got me somewhat preoccupied/excited/anxious, and also the weather has been so nice that it's hard to stay inside recently. BUT that's no excuse, I know. I want you all to know that it is my very realistic and fervent goal to have the next comic posted by not this Wednesday, but next Wednesday, March 23. I understand that this sucks, but please bear with me; it's kind of a struggle of will at the moment. In the meantime, you comments, questions, and votes are all appreciated!
05-03-2007
SNAG! So today's comic is by-and-large the longest comic in the history of Seaworthy's 12-comic run. And to top it all off, I have hit a major snag that involves me being in a place where I don't have the right materials to complete the job. So... there are approximately 12 hours before I have to go to work, and I highly doubt that I will succeed in having the comic up by then. BUT I will work as hard as I can until that point to get as much as possible done. Sorry about this everyone; stay tuned...
05-02-2007
A couple of announcements today. The first is that April was a record-breaking month for Seaworthy, both in number of hits and number of votes. The comic finished healthily within the top 200 on BuzzComix (and close on TWC), with over 100 votes on each list site. Great voting, everyone! And thanks to the increased visibility, this site also managed to break 300 hits in April, a new monthly record! So my goal for April of reaching a wider audience has been a success! And since we're on a roll, let's continue to grow this success in the month of May!
Secondly, for the last couple of weeks I have been interviewing for a new job using my college degree (Technical Writing). As of early this week, I was offered a job at a large financial group and I have accepted! What this means for the comic in the long term is that I'll be able to upgrade this site's subscription level, meaning increased bandwidth, the possibility of @seaworthycomic Email accounts, and (most importantly) cgi-access for a higher level of interactivity on the site. This means a forum and a contact page and a whole slew of other great things are in store for the Seaworthy site!
Of course, what this means for the comic in the SHORT term is that I haven't had time to work on today's comic! Daaah! And I was doing so well... I am very sorry to say that the comic will be a day late this week. I also realize that I didn't make good on my April promise of a new character and the beginning of a story arc. Well, the next comic coming out does indeed introduce a new character! Excitement! And I will see if a story arc fits into my May plan, but hey, the comic is pretty good without them, right? Stay tuned for the new comic, and keep those votes coming in!
04-25-2007
NEW INCENTIVE! Okay, I know I promised you one of Tess, but I received word that a great man, Boris Yeltsin, has died. This is a horrible tragedy, and the new incentive comic is my tribute to him. Unfortunately, I have an important job interview to prepare for on Friday, so this week's comic will have to wait until Saturday (I still want to get one more in during April though). My votes on both comics lists have exceeded 100 now! Thank you everyone, and enjoy the new voting incentive!
04-20-2007
MILESTONE! This end-of-the-week update is to inform you, the readers, that Seaworthy has just gone over the 1,000 hits mark! Hooray! I have to say I'm very pleased; the comic is reaching a wide audience considering its relative newness to the webcomic scene. It's fun to get hits from people in other countries, and it's fun to hear about what people think about the comic. You, too, can let me know by signing the guestlog or emailing me.
In addition to my milestone in hits, I want to thank all the loyal fans for your votes on BuzzComix and TopWebComics. Thanks to your efforts, Seaworthy has well secured a place in the top 200 comics on BuzzComix (180 as of writing this update)! My TopWebComics rating is currently at 220, but that is dropping every day (in a good way, I mean)! I've checked my traffic tracker, and it's clear that the comic is gaining a significant amount of visibility from my good ranks on these sites. Also, this comic is now listed on OnlineComics.net, so that's just another place to check it out (no voting necessary on that site).
Isn't this like a shareholders' meeting or something? You folks have just been so great, you really deserve something. How about a new incentive image? How about one of the curvaceous sailor Tess? Okay, I'll get to work on that! I have to play a show tonight, but I will get drawing that as soon as the headache wears off! In the meantime, I've created a new section on the website called 'About' where you can view some of the statistics of the website and the comic, such as creation info, number of comics, hits, and the like. An interesting thing to check up on every once in a while! Well, I guess I'd better tune up my bass and get to my gig. Thank you once again, everyone! You're all fantastic!
04-18-2007
Well, folks, today you are 'treated' to a bit of unconventional hijinx as today's comic premieres! Get ready for a wild ride full of talking animals, Tess's unorthodox cooking practices, and good, cheap laughs! Come and enjoy! Also, I've added the St. Groundhog Day incentive comic to my art page, so if you liked that one you can re-view it there. Oh, and great work on the voting, by the way; keep it up!
04-11-2007
Hurray! The New Comic is up, and it's actually on time! This is good news! To celebrate, I cracked and ate my Seaworthy egg (it tasted great!). I hope you enjoy the new comic! Remember to vote and see the egg I just ate, because now it exists only as a JPEG image file...
04-05-2007
For the update this week, I've decided to finally get the two "Coming Soon" parts of the site up and running. I've decided to stick to doing one comic a week for now, sorry. Anyway, the "Crew" page has a simple crew manifest for the Seaworthy (for all the crewers that we know, so far) that will hopefully get more complex as the week goes on. The "Art" page will contain all past artwork and incentive comics that no longer appear on the site. This is where I will be storing them (after a time) when I take the images down. And hopefully I'll have a new voting incentive up for you by tomorrow; I know you've been suffering through the same one since Groundhog Day. This will be a time consuming process, as I will have to change the code on every page of this site. Thank you and enjoy!
04-01-2007
It's here! The March sabbatical is over, and EPISODE 10 is up and ready to bust your stitches! Well, I hope you like it anyway. I hope/plan to make April an exciting month for Seaworthy, so read the notes after the new comic to learn a little bit more about my grand schemes. And everyone please remember to vote; I'm counting on you!
03-14-2007
In the wake of recent missed deadlines, I am sorry to announce that Seaworthy is going on a brief hiatus. With my new work schedule, I find it difficult to little more than work and sleep, and my waking life is closely akin to the daily habits of a zombie. As I hope that I am able to better fall into a routine soon, I plan on re-premiering the comic on Sunday, April 1, 2007. After that comic, the Wednesday schedule will still be in effect. Thank you for your ever-enduring patience. I hope to make April an award-winning month for Seaworthy. Expect an update sometime closer to April. Fare thee well, until we meet again!
03-08-2007
Happy Thursday. It seems that I am having a lot more trouble adjusting to working the graveyard shift than I thought I might, meaning all I can really do during the day is work and sleep. So, until I get a bit more settled in, I'm going to have to put out this week's comic on the weekend sometime (my weekend starts at 6:00am on Friday morning). Look for its coming during that time. As of now, I still plan on posting next week's comic on time.
03-07-2007
Happy Wednesday. I am writing this announcement to inform you that, due to an unforeseen social engagement that I have tonight, I will be putting out the comic one day late this week. Thank you for bearing with me. Have a good one!
02-28-2007
Hello, fans! After a minor absense, Seaworthy is back in action with its LATEST EPISODE! See the Captain and his crew tackle their most dangerous foe yet! I'm not kidding! Anyhow, I'm sure you all noticed the painful lack of a comic last week, and the even more painful lack of even a mention about this on the site. There have been a lot of things happening in my life as of recently. Most importantly, I would like to announce that I have asked my girlfriend, Ashley, to marry me, to which she replied "yes!" So that is a major excitement. Pictures of the big rock coming soon! Another reorganization to my life is that I have switched to third shift at work in anticipation to a slew of upcoming job interviews. So hang in there, readers; I'll be able to settle into my new schedule soon, and keep bringing you the funny with Seaworthy!
02-14-2007
The new comic is up today! It's a Valentine's Day special, so again not a part of the main plotline (there's a plotline?). The regular comics will be back with next Wednesday's update. Please vote and enjoy Seaworthy!
02-10-2007
Hello, adoring public. well, I have some news today. First off, I'm not afraid to admit that the Seaworthy Shift was a complete failure. I think I worked on the comic less this week than I usually do on a regular week. I feel that the timing was all wrong, namely because the Shift happened to fall on a week where I was feeling far lazier than usual. As a result of this, I have another announcement. You didn't want to hear it, and I didn't want to do it, but I'm afraid that, Until further notice, Seaworthy will only be updating once a week. It is a shame, but I need to figure out a good method of getting a backlog built up that I will actually do. So, temporarily, the comic will be updating on Wednesdays. I hope to get the comic I was working on this weekend up by this Tuesday, but it seems that whenever I promise an update something goes wrong, so tentatively look for the new comic on Tuesday. Take care and thank you [in advance] for your patience and understanding.
02-06-2007
The first Seaworthy Special is online and ready to read. It should be a real treat for those of you who are LOST fans. That's all I have time to write right now. Enjoy the comic!
02-03-2007
The Seaworthy Guestlog link is temporarily down; the old guestlog has been spammed to death by those many automated posts by those spammers at Blogspot (there's a special place in hell for spammers). It is unfortunate, but all messages and, indeed, the guestlog page itself are no longer in existence. Don't worry, I will be putting up a new guestlog soon: probably one with more of a forum design to it, with categories and what have you. I don't know what these categories will be, but I'll think of something. Also, I took some of the advice I've been getting and changed the update schedule to Tuesdays and Fridays. While this doesn't seem like a big difference, it should make a big difference in my ability to get updates posted on time. Hang in there, readers! Oh, and please continue to vote! We're doing really well so far this month!
02-02-2007
NEW VOTING INCENTIVE UP: PLEASE VOTE!
That's right, today's update comes to you in the form of a voting incentive image that is posted on both Buzzcomix and TopWebComics (the two voting links to the right). In Februry (each month, in fact), the number of votes your comic has received is reset to zero. Last month I did quite well in the polls: I ended up with 62 votes on BcX and 58 on TWC (putting me in the 200s and 300s in rank, respectively). Not bad for the first month. This month I would like to beat my old record, and pick up some new readers in the process (by getting a higher rank, see?). So I would encourage each of you, the devoted readers of Seaworthy, to put me up there on the leaderboard. I would encourage you all to vote for my site as often as possible. I think that Seaworthy could get a much higher rank this month with your help. So... please vote as often as you can: every day would be spectacular! But whenever you visit the site, please vote!
Also, remember that by the next update, I will already be hard at work on the "Seaworthy Shift".
01-30-2007 (UPDATE 2)
Episode 8, the sequel to "Keelhauled!" has been posted (despite great delays). I think you will enjoy the conclusion to this plotline. Today I have formulated a plan for my marathon of comic production, which I have outlined on the "Seaworthy Shift" page. I feel like this is my best bet for getting a bit ahead on the comic and avoiding future delays like the ones that have plagued the comic recently. It's a plan, anyhow, so we'll see how it works...
01-30-2007
GRRR!!! Hello, all my wonderful fans! Well, the comic took longer than I expected... AGAIN! I have the whole thing drawn, inked, and colored (and I think it looks great), but once again I have to go to my stupid job before I can make the text balloons! And it would only take me like another 20 minutes, but that's 20 minutes I don't have. Damn, damn, damn it! Anyway, thank you for being very patient with me. My day today will include working my 8-hour shift until 2:00pm CST, at which point I will drive home like a madman and get that comic up. I will have it up by 3:30pm at the latest IF IT'S THE LAST THING I EVER DO!!!
It has come to my attention (and yours, no doubt) that I am having a lot of trouble keeping my updates on schedule. It has been suggested to me that I change my beginning-of-the-week update to Tuesday instead of Monday, since I generally like to relax on Saturdays after the Friday update which leaves me one hectic Sunday to get the comic done. While I don't know if this is necessarily the correct solution to the problem, I know that something must be done. So I have some thinking to do on what to do. What I won't do is cut the comic update schedule down to ONE new comic a week; I think that would be too infrequent to keep you, the readers, interested and therefore wouldn't even make the comic worth doing. Basically, it comes down to the fact that I need to have a marathon of comic-work soon. I've done some thinking on that, and I think the best plan would be to pick a week, Monday-to-Sunday, and put in a 40-hour week of comic work (in addition to my 40-hour work week). If I do that, I think I could probably get a whole month of comics done and stockpiled. I would, of course, continue to work on the comic despite this backlog, but I could do so at a more leisurely pace that would keep me from burning out.
01-27-2007
The new comic has been posted. I know, it's a day late. I really need to stop going out on Friday nights! Oh well, just reliving some of my past glories... is it too early for me to be having a midlife crisis? Maybe not in caveman-years. I also fixed a navigational error that I found on one of the comic pages, so navigating through the comics should be "smooth sailing" now. Enjoy the new comic! And I hate to say the same thing at the end of every post like Bob Barker, but remember to have your pet spayed or neutered, and please remember to vote for Seaworthy!

I managed to get the new comic drawn last night and colored this morning. All I need to do is add the text balloons, and if I had just one more hour I would be able to post it in the early morning. Stupid work. Heard this before, eh? Well, have faith, my friends: the comic will be up yet today!

Well look, I managed to get the new comic up. That makes six! Please vote for this comic; I'm starting to slip in the rankings. And please also sign my guestlog to the left! After the update that I missed on Friday, I'm ready to get back on track.

Update: As you can see, I failed to meet my Friday comic release. Something in real life occured that did not allow me to work on the comic last night. This will not be a usual thing, so please continue to regard the Monday/Friday comic release as the official schedule. Seaworthy will update this Monday.
A minor delay has befallen me this Thursday night, the result of which is that I will not be able to have my Friday comic up at its usual time (1-3 hours before 12:00am CST Friday). It will, however, still go up on Friday. So I'm not going to count this one as a missed deadline, but still well on the way to being considered bad form. I realize that some comics will take more time than others, and as such will have to give them ample time in the future.
In the meantime, until the comic goes up, please note that some new features have appeared on the website. The navigation parchment on the left has been updated, an archive page has been added, and also a guestlog, which prompts me to make my first call to action to you readers out there. If you happen to be checking out Seaworthy, please take a look at the Guestlog and just write a quick message with your name and maybe say something about the site/comic. It'd be real swell to hear from the readers! Well, stay tuned for the new comic, coming later today!

Episode 5 is now posted, and in case you missed it, Episode 4 now has a brief note after it. I am starting to get a positive response from some readers; I'd love to hear what you have to say!
As I become more savvy with the comic creation process, I feel like I am starting to cut down my work time by a little bit each time I do a comic. I've taken it from over 12 hours to just a few hours to go from blank paper to finished comic now, so that means a small backlog might be created in the coming week(s). That all means that some site improvements have some time to take place. I am now planning a fairly significant design and organization change on the site, which will include new parchment-bar navigation links (not all the current ones will even appear on the new one), the archive going up, new voting incentives, and hopefully a better way to contact me. The forum idea might be replaced, for now, with a guestbook since every public comment for the comic can probably be grouped into a single board.
I've said it before... but I'll say it again: the changes are coming soon! In the meantime, enjoy the new comic and keep voting for Seaworthy!

The third installment of Seaworthy is online, but guess what didn't happen: the site changes. My time started to get rather cramped as Sunday rolled around, so I only had time to do the comic (and just barely that). The site changes have to happen, so I will force myself to do it soon! Enjoy the new comic, and keep up the good voting!

Episode 2 is up today! Due to a hectic week, I am planning on making major changes to the site (like making some of the links actually work) this weekend. Look for those in the coming week; Monday would be a good day. Continue to vote for the comic!

The premiere date for Seaworthy has finally come! Thank you to all of you who were regular visitors to the site while I was getting everything all together. Thanks to all of your votes, Episode 1 of Seaworthy will be seen by more people than I expected. That is really fantastic!
I'm very happy to be able to present this comic to you; it has been a long time in the making. I have a cigar box full of comic scripts all ready to be drawn, inked, colored, and brought to the screen. In other words, I have a large wealth of material that will hopefully grow larger still; I think of these ridiculous things way faster than I can make them!
In making this first episode of the comic, I learned that all the processes involved in making a web comic are very... involving. At my current rate of production I will have to settle for releasing two comics a week: one on Monday and the other on Friday. The first comic is out today; Episode 2 will be posted this Friday (01-05-2007).
I feel that this is really bad form, but unfortunately several of the links on the nav-parchment to the left are not up yet. I simply ran out of time and was unable to create a page for some of the coming-soon sections of the site. The section on the Crew will be created when we are introduced to more of the crew, and the Archive and Art sections will be added when I have more than one comic up. Also, the Forum is still in the process of being set-up. Remember to check back often as I will be working on the website on non-comic days.
But anyway, here is the first web comic. I'm proud of it so I hope you'll enjoy it. This is part one of a two-parter intro comic, so stay tuned for the new comic on Friday. And if you like the comic, any votes you could give me would help me gain those ranks. As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions through email. Thank you, and enjoy Seaworthy!
