Name: Jean-Baptiste
Rank: Ship's Cook
DOB: May 24, 1667
Hails from: Châteaufort, France

One of two Frenchmen aboard the Seaworthy, Jean-Baptiste occupies one of the lowest stations on the ship: in the galley. Inspired by the ledgendary Chef François Massialot, Jean-Baptiste took the job as the Seaworthy's cook in order to finance his training in the art of Haute Cuisine. However, when he arrived aboard he realized that this was not the ideal environment in which to practice fine cooking. Jean-Baptiste typically only has sauerkraut and hard tack with which to craft his culinary creations, with the occasional barrel of salted pork or fresh catch of fish.

Over time, it seemed less likely that Jean-Baptiste would ever leave his post as the ship's cook and return to France to complete his training. He has come to accept the limited creativity that can be achieved with such rudimentary ingrediently, though it can be argued whether or not he truly enjoys serving simple meals to simple people. Still, a love of adventure and a life at sea must be motivation enough to keep him sailing on.
