Name: "The Kid"
Rank: Cabin Boy
DOB: June 21, 1709
Picked Up In: Plymouth, Montserrat

The young rascally kid, affectionately called "The Kid" by Captain Strathclyde and crew, was discovered stowing away in a wine cask aboard the Seaworthy. The wine was picked up during a brief anchorage at Plymouth, Monserrat, before the ship made way toward the nearby islands of Antiguilla. Kidd was on his way to begin a new life on a new island, feeling that he had outgrown the Irish community of Monserrat. Instead, he was captured by his "liberators" and pressed into service as the ship's cabin boy. It is not known if Monserrat is Kidd's original home, or if he was just passing through. The latter theory is supported by the fact that Kidd did not live with parents, and that the inhabitants there cannot give an account of his birth on the island.

Kidd is a young man characterized by the use of crude language, recklessness and brashness, and his desire to be an important member of the ship's crew. He and the Captain bonded very shortly after Kidd's discovery aboard the ship (at first he wanted to keelhaul him). Since then, the Kidd has been obsessed with living the "sailor's life," craving the high adventure of a life at sea. Often, he is disappointed by the monotony and frustrating circumstances that he inevitably finds himself in, due to sailing with Strathclyde's crew.
